APTS (Advanced Passenger Transport Services)

CCS has been developing and installing specialist transport systems since 1985 and is acknowledged as the leading supplier of non-emergency patient and special needs passenger transport systems in the UK. With installed systems in Ambulance Services, NHS Authorities, Local Government Authorities and private carriers, Cleric systems handle over 14.5 million passenger journeys each year. The new graphical APTS system reflects the latest thinking in the provision of dynamic passenger transport services and includes many new features. Passenger registration and journey booking is streamlined through integrated postcode addressing, rapid passenger data recall, cut and paste and real-time planning and scheduling features. This highly visual system includes the latest geospatial technology and provides an infinite range of configuration options including the latest DDA (Dynamic Desk Allocation) technology for large diverse organizations and includes unique MUST (MUltiple Service Type) technology which facilitates transport planning and control of NHS, Social Services, Special Education, General Education, Dial-A-Ride, Courier Services and other transport services on the same system. Based on open systems technology APTS embraces the whole of the transport service operation from the registration of transport requests to journey charging. APTS includes journey eligibility assessment, PTS Online Services, real-time vehicle tracking displays, geographical reporting and spatial analysis, route optimisation, automatic planning and a range of mobile data communications options.
The system is designed to satisfy several major requirements:

  • The integration of multiple service types.
  • Centralised booking, management, corporate reporting and contracting.
  • The provision of centralised planning and control functions or distributed local customer oriented sub-systems or a combination of different organisational models.
  • The flexibility to meet changing customer demands and information requirements.
  • To facilitate the apportionment of costs against contracts or defined operational areas.
  • To minimise transport administration costs.

The system reflects the latest thinking in the provision of passenger transport services and embodies centralised management reporting and contracting whilst maintaining either centralised planning and control or distributed virtual customer friendly sub-systems. The ever changing demands placed upon transport service providers and increasing customer expectations make flexibility of paramount importance. The modular and flexible nature of the APTS software enables complete systems to be tailored to meet a client's exact requirements at the lowest cost without compromising quality.

The system embraces the whole of the transport operation commencing with the receipt and registration of transport requests, through planning, day control, contracting and charging to management and statistical reporting.
